WEEK #27 - CYCLING SHORTS

News

The first race to take place in Belgium post-COVID-19 came to an abrupt end as young rider Niels De Vriendt (VDM-Van Durm-Michiels-Trawobo CT) died while racing. The 20-year-old suffered cardiac failure and crashed. A long attempt at reviving him wasn't successful and the race was halted 13 km from the end.

Nairo Quintana (Arkéa-Samsic) suffered some injuries when he was hit by a car while training in Colombia. There were no fractures but he will need a couple of weeks of rest before resuming training.
