It wouldn't be professional cycling if there weren't some incredible team's performances off the bike. Mitchelton-SCOTT on June 5th signed some sort of agreement with Manuela Fundaciòn to take over as sponsor for the remainder of 2020 and from 2021 onwards. Then Gerry Ryan (Mitchelton-SCOTT current owner) told the press that the deal would be off as he only intended for Manuela Fundaciòn to be a sponsor, while the Spanish non-profit company stated they were taking over as owners as well. Now there seems to be a legal battle as to how binding the signed Heads of Terms was. Former Giro d'Italia winner Stefano Garzelli is the agent in charge of mediations on behalf of the Spanish outfit and he seems to be confident the agreement would be binding. So the saga continues.

There was a drop of up to 90% in anti-doping controls during the lockdown. This will put a question mark on the top form of some riders, no doubt.

Another climber has been snapped up by Team INEOS, Laurens De Plus from Team Jumbo-Visma.

Women's team Bigla-Katusha will have a new sponsor, French fashion brand Paule Ka. In 2021 they will apply for World Tour status as well.
